Grantee Profile

Transgender Youth Project Logo

Transgender Youth Project is an organization created and run by transgender youth (mostly ages 13-19 years old) committed to advocacy, the creation of resources and spaces so that trans youth have the power to express and fulfill their needs with recognition of their intersectional identities. TYP serves as a space where transgender youth can work towards building community, seeking justice, liberation, and creating a future that is not restricted by the same axes of oppression that go unchecked in many of the existing organizations in the area. In contrast, TYP’s work is always informed by the needs and lived experiences of group members and the youth TYP is seeking to serve.

Transgender Youth Project is fiscally sponsored by San Diego Human Dignity Foundation.
