Kate Barr

Board Treasurer

Kate is the President and CEO of the Nonprofits Assistance Fund, in Minneapolis, whose mission is to fuel the effectiveness and impact of nonprofits with guidance, expertise and capital. Kate has led the organization’s growth as a premier resource for training, strategic financial guidance, and loans for nonprofit organizations. Her responsibilities include strategic and business planning, development, and external relations. Prior to joining the organization in 2000, Kate was an executive at Riverside Bank in Minneapolis, an innovative leader in financing growing businesses and community development projects. With her unique insight and experience, she is a popular speaker, trainer, and writer on nonprofit management and financial issues. Kate has a Master’s degree from Hamline University and has been on the adjunct faculty at both Hamline and the University of Minnesota.  She currently serves on the boards of directors of the Jerome and Camargo Foundations.
