Shayla is a Southern, Black, disabled lesbian with a passion for Black art, social liberation, and facilitating change through communal and individual support. A true Georgia peach, Shayla is dedicating to the uplifting and reclamation of the South for marginalized people who call the South home.
Her dedication has spanned her entire professional and educational career, as they received their B.A. in Women’s Studies and Art History, and their M.A. in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. They previously served as the Program Specialist for reproductive justice non-profit focused on educating queer and trans youth of color in reproductive justice advocacy and leadership development.
