Tony is Principal of Bridging Worlds Philanthropic Advisors, which provides consulting services to private, corporate, community and family foundations. Bridging Worlds advises on an array of issues including global philanthropy, economic development, corporate giving, performing arts, immigration, Latino and aging issues. Prior to Bridging Worlds, Tony was the senior program director for the Western Union Foundation. He led the foundation’s global-giving programs for economic development and immigrant integration and led key partnerships with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Previously, Tony was the director of grantmaking for the Gill Foundation where he oversaw funding to social justice and human service nonprofit organizations in the United States; and the senior director of Cultural Participation Programs at the Association of Performing Arts Presenters in Washington, D.C. In that capacity, he directed a grantmaking program that supported artists’ residencies, and engaged communities in the performing arts in the United States. Tony currently serves as a trustee of the Bright Mountain Foundation. Past board memberships include: Hispanics in Philanthropy, Grantmakers Concerned with Immigrants and Refugees, the Latin American Research and Services Agency, and Funders for Lesbian and Gay Issues.
