The Communities Transforming Policing Fund (CTPF) is now accepting letters of inquiry on a rolling basis. CTPF is a donor collaborative that works to resource local communities impacted by deadly and discriminatory policing practices to build power, increase police accountability and transparency, and redefine safety by advocating for investment in community-based programs and services as alternatives to police, jails, and prisons. From 2017 to 2020, CTPF awarded $6.45 million to 57 groups winning meaningful changes locally.
How to apply:
If you are interested in submitting a letter of inquiry to receive funding, please take the following steps:
- Review the Eligibility Criteria & Priorities
- If you are eligible, submit a letter of inquiry
- The CTPF team will respond within 2-4 weeks to let you know if you will be invited to submit a proposal. (In some cases, we might need additional information before moving forward.)
- In the proposal stage, groups may submit recent proposals they have submitted to other foundations or to schedule a conversation with us in lieu of submitting a narrative proposal.
- Acceptance of letters of inquiry will close on June 1st, 2021.
Priority consideration will be given to:
- Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC)-led organizations
- Organizations led by individuals who have been directly impacted by the criminal legal system
- Ongoing campaigns in jurisdictions with particularly timely opportunities for change
- Groups who do not receive significant support from national foundations
We encourage all eligible groups to apply sooner than later. Given the rolling process and depending on how many requests we receive, it is possible that all funds will be disseminated before the end of the year. Will we close the submission of letters of inquiry by June 1st, 2021.
