We understand that justice and democracy isn’t built at the ballot box; rather, it relies on the people holding and exercising power, social justice movements, innovation and long-term visions to shape a new future. In order to build a truly inclusive, multiracial democracy, then, we must ensure that all communities have access to the safety, opportunity, and inclusion that civic engagement requires.
