Media, Journalism, and Narrative Change
Borealis’ investments in Media, Journalism, and Narrative Change supports and builds BIPOC-serving media outlets, narrative strategists, cultural producers, and organizations that are building media power, protecting access to information, cultivating just and inclusive narratives, and challenging disinformation with community-rooted storytelling.
By supporting media ecosystems, journalism equity, and narrative research, we aim to build the architecture of a new, more loving and just narrative landscape. And because we know that local storytelling hubs have the power to reshape the public imagination around our communities and cultural organizing for equity, supporting them ensures that our movements can win.
To date, Borealis has invested over $24 million in media, journalism, and narrative change, enabling community media organizations and strategists to tell stories and deliver information that strengthens our movements and counter the dis- and mis-information fueling this moment of democratic backsliding.
